SIMAGINE 2005
SIMagine 2005 invites professionals or students to develop wireless applications of the future using (U)SIM cards based on JavaTM technology.
Possible topics include:
information on demand
m-commerce / m-payment
entertainment services
location-based services
secure content distribution
picture management
personal data storage
corporate applications
Eight finalists will be selected by a Jury comprising key players in the telecommunications
world. Projects will be assessed for their innovation, marketing appeal, user-friendliness
and feasibility.
Prizes worth more than 60,000 euros.

E-GATE OPEN 2005
e-gate Open 2005, the third edition of the worldwide USB smart card developer
contest, invites professionals or students to develop new secure e-business
solutions or applications using e-gate smart cards (Axalto USB smart cards).
Possible topics include :
Internet Access Solution
Digital Identity Management Solution based on 2 factor authentication
(Liberty Alliance)
Wireless Network Access (WIFI, Wimax, 3G)
Internet on line Value-added Services (Corporate services)
Roaming and VPN (Virtual private network)
Voice Over IP (VoIP)
Internet on line Value-added Services (Consummer)
Communication (Video Conference, IP telephony)
e-commerce and Banking Services (e-banking,
MODS Mastercard Object Data Storage, gambling, e-broking)
Entertainment (VOD, games, home network)
Citizens Services (e-voting, electronic signature)
Six finalists will be selected by a Jury including key leaders in the IT and
e-business world and will have the opportunity to present their project to the
public during the JavaOne 2005 exhibition in San Francisco, USA in June 2005.
Projects will be assessed according to the following criteria : innovation,
marketing appeal, ease of implementation, user-friendliness, compactness, cost-effectiveness,
ease of deployment on the market, security and business potential.
