organised by EHTEL, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia and the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (ZZZS).

ePrescribing and Medication Management: Since ePrescribing will be implemented in many European Nations there is a pressing need for interoperable prescriptions and particularly for semantic interoperability of all medication related information. These are means >> to support
the mobility of citizens and patients, >> to safeguard the quality of medication decisions throughout Europe, >> to improve patient safety and >> to save human and medical resources.

The conference will provide a platform to update the knowledge on the state of the art and to discuss the lessons learnt from already existing national implementations by:

Keynotes on ePrescribing/Medication Management by European-wide reputed speakers

Parallel sessions to facilitate the exchange of experiences on e.g. ePrescribing supported by Medication History & Drug Databases, Policy Guidelines, Legal Regulations, European Medicines Market, ICT Standards, Semantic Interoperability, GP & Hospital ePrescribing (CPOE), etc.

Forums for all stakeholders, e.g. Patients & Consumers, Health Professionals, Health Authorities, Insurance Funds, National Governments, European Commission, Regulatory Bodies and Industry.

This conference is also a follow-up of the successful EHTEL ePrescribing seminar in June 2004.

The Republic of Slovenia is an attractive meeting place. Furthermore – starting from June2006 – Slovenia will provide all patients/citizens with an electronic medication record.
