Eurosmart
Meetings

19 September 2006 - Eurosmart Identity Working
Group (upon invitation at 10.00 am)
Sub-Group of the Market & Technology WG of
the Association, it gathers ID experts from smart
card, ICs, terminal and equipment manufacturers.
The group has already contributed at International
and EU level to the adoption of specific regulations
linked to electronic identity, biometrics passports,
visa, residence permit, driving licence. Members
are particularly involved in CEN WGs, eID roadmap
group led by EU Commission and Austria, as well
as the Biometrics WG just being set up at EU level.
After the promotion of specific technical documents
and position papers in this area, members are
now focussing on interoperability issues, essential
for a wider implementation of the smart card technology,
and are inviting ENISA to exchange views on secure
authentication (Pascal Manzano, senior expert
from ENISA, confirmed his attendance).
20 September 2006 - Eurosmart Security Standards
Harmonisation Working Group (afternoon, upon
invitation)
Security Managers of the smart card industry have
convinced International and European payment organisations
as well as GSMA to join them to adopt a common
work programme in view to harmonise security standards
and audit methodologies. It will be their third
meeting and participants will discuss a common
risk analysis approach for logical and physical
security standards in the production process.

Committee (members only)
Jacques Seneca is gathering the Steering Committee
members to validate the industry strategy for
2006/2007 and prepare the next release of the
industry figures and the industry CEOs round table
(November 2006).

MESURE
User Group (upon
invitation)
September 20 - 5.30pm
The funded project MESURE (Java Card features
benchmarking) will meet for the first time its
User Group. The meeting brings together Java Card
technology providers, silicon manufacturers, smart
card manufacturers, integrators, large user and
organization.
MESURE is a project whose goal is to set up an
"Open benchmark for Java Card technology".
The project launched this year will present the
first round of results (state of the art in smart
card benchmark and benchmark requirements).
In the second part of the meeting we will also
present the project schedule and organization,
and we will collect your feedback.
