According to the Financial Times, several countries are lobbying to host the new “European MIT”.
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) seems to be the object of fierce rivalry between contestants for hosting this “flagship for excellence in European innovation”. According to the Financial Times, Poland, Spain, Hungary, and an Austrian-Slovak alliance are on the short list. The EIT headquarters’ location –employing 60 people- will be allegedly announced by the end of May. Meanwhile, the selection of the 18 members for its Governing Board is ongoing, the appointments are planned by the end of June.
