LiMo Foundation membership exceeds 50 companies

The consortium delivering an open handset platform for the whole mobile industry, announced 11 new member companies in last August.
The addition of Cellon, Esmertec, Freescale Semiconductor, Longcheer Holdings, MIZI Research, Movial Corporation, PacketVideo Corporation (PV), SK Innoace, Telecom Italia, VirtualLogix™ Inc. and ZTE Corporation advances LiMo’s membership to more than 50 companies from across the mobile ecosystem. It is to be noted that 23 handsets have already been brought to mobile consumers using the LiMo Platform, positioning Linux as most widely deployed OS within open mobile handsets. Seven mobile industry leaders launched LiMo Foundation in January 2007: Motorola, NEC, NTT DOCOMO, Orange, Panasonic, Samsung and Vodafone. Access, Aplix, Azingo, LG Electronics, McAfee, Purple Labs, SK Telecom, Texas Instruments, Verizon and Wind River have joined as Core Members of LiMo Foundation. Acrodea, AMD, ARM, Broadcom, Cellon, Elektrobit, Ericsson, Esmertec, ETRI, Freescale, FueTrek, Huawei, Infineon, Innopath, KTF, Kvaleberg AS, Longcheer, Mizi Research, MontaVista Software, Movial, Mozilla Corporation, NXP B.V., Open Plug, Packet Video, Red Bend Software, Renesas, Sagem Mobiles, Samsung SDS, SFR, SK Innoace, SoftBank, STMicroelectronics, Telecom Italia, VirtualLogix and ZTE Corporation are Associate Members.
