GlobalPlatform announced the first commercial usage of its Small Terminal Interoperability Platform Specification to provide Digital Rights Management.
“SecureSharing” from the application provider Calton Hill allows protected content such as video, data and music to be shared via a secure digital card used in different mobile devices, such as phone handsets, PDAs and portable video players. This solution is the first commercial usage of GlobalPlatform device technology in mobile handsets, and also the first commercial DRM solution based on GPD/STIP Specifications declares the association. SecureSharing stores encrypted sensitive content on a SanDisk TrustedFlash card, which can only be read by secure GlobalPlatform compliant mobile devices.
