T-Mobile USA announced the G1 handset from HTC will be available on October 22. It runs Android open mobile platform.
The T-Mobile G1 will also be available in the United Kingdom beginning in November, and across Europe in the first quarter of 2009. Countries include Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. This mobile phone, manufactured by HTC, developed in partnership with Google, is the first commercially available phone to run on the Android OS. T-Mobile, mobile communications subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is a founding member of the Open Handset Alliance, a group of more than 30 technology and mobile companies that have developed Android open mobile platform. The T-Mobile G1 will also offer access to Android Market, which hosts applications and services from developers around the world from games to social networking and on-the-go shopping.
